Carte Blanche Studios, a multi-purpose creative space, host to gallery evenings, theatre productions, workshops, and live music. It was founded in 2007 by Milwaukee Native Jimmy Dragolovich, a professional actor, director and filmmaker.
Dragolovich began his training at Milwaukee High School of the Arts and went on to earn a Fine Arts degree from CalArts. He has performed in numerous off-Broadway shows in New York City, and also has produced and directed a variety of short films, documentaries, and music videos for his own independent production company. Upon returning to Milwaukee Dragolovich founded Carte Blanche Studios with the goal of promoting and cultivating talent in Milwaukee’s arts community.
In March of 2008 Jimmy found a business partner in Adam White, a friend and fellow theater major from his Milwaukee High School of the Arts days. Adam has an extensive background in small business and has performed in a wide variety of plays. At the time he reconnected with Dragolovich he had been looking for a new business opportunity, and thus was their partnership made.
What began as a tiny theatre in a loft above an antique store on 1st Street has evolved into what is now a newly renovated 80-seat theatre, gallery, and lounge on Milwaukee’s affluent 5th Street Row.
